Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, Karen Guinn graduated Summa Cum Laude before heading south to trade in her snow shovel for a fishing rod. Throughout her professional career, she has held various marketing and communication roles in banking, professional services and real estate development. Karen most recently served as the North American marketing director for one of the most trusted heavy equipment manufacturers in the world.
In that role, Karen handled all internal and external communications, corporate messaging, public relations, community outreach, branding, advertising, media buying and event marketing – to name a few. In addition, she serves on a number of industry and political boards.
An avid soccer player and runner, Karen is also active in the community. She can often be found at various fundraisers or swinging a hammer for Habitat for Humanity. She serves as a member of the Community Council for Savannah Technical College and has been appointed to the Advisory Board for the Savannah Economic Development Authority. Karen currently serves as the Vice President of the Savannah Downtown Business Association and as a board member with Visit Savannah, the marketing arm of the Chamber of Commerce.
Karen lives in the heart of the historic district of picturesque Savannah, Georgia with her dog Rocco.
